Page 365 of 365 2015; nearing the end of the most festive time of the year on our calendars.

On the cusp of a new novel, the kitchen remains warm from the constant use of the oven as full dishes of traditional roasts and rich desserts are replaced by light but copious amounts of party food.  Pigs in blankets slowly turn into cocktail sausages, sherry to champagne and even the frequently occurring Christmas sofa parties gradually evolve to become packed houses - full of friends and the gentle rustle of sequinned clothes on the dance floor.

It’s a season brought to life by food.
